Wanted: School teams, youth groups and individuals for community
projects.
Youth Challenge encourages and helps 12-18 year olds to be active in their
community. Taking the challenge you form a team to investigate, develop,
implement and evaluate a project that will give something back to your
community.
Here are some Youth Challenge project ideas or you can create your own project.
- create a community garden
- paint an aerosol art mural
- hold a Red Cross fundraising event
- establish a youth advisory group with the local council
- set up a Breakfast Club at a local school / community centre
- establish a youth radio program / segment
- maintain gardens for a local nursing home
- paint a children's playground
- organise a school disco
- hold a talent quest at a community hall
- create a performance for the local pre-school or nursing home eg; drama, dance, singing
- start a reading group for younger kids at school
- decorate a room or floor at the local hospital
- organise to get better lighting in a local park or at a train station to make the area safer
- organise a tree planting day in your local area or at school
- clean up a beach
- plan a 'Introduction to Computers' session at the local nursing home
- organise a road safety awareness day

available projects in your area.
